2.2. General QR Code Information

There are two main forms of QR codes – “Static” and “Dynamic”.

“Static” QR codes are stand-alone QR codes – they will always link to the same destination and can never be changed (e.g. if the website changes URLs, a new QR would need to be created).

“Dynamic” QR codes, however, are more user-friendly, cost effective, and flexible. There is the ability to change the end location of a dynamic QR code as frequently as required, as well as obtaining analytical marketing data about the QR code’s usage (e.g. frequency, location, and time of scans). These features are ideal for tangible version of QR codes (e.g. QR codes on merchandise, flyers, posters/banners, and other hard-copy marketing materials).

While static QR codes will still be offered, Epic-QR will be a focus on dynamic QR code solutions, with utilisation of the picture QR code technology.
